My husband and I were buying a Maybach, $161,950 — our retirement gift to ourselves. We spoke to a "manager," everything sounded professional. Wired the money on Monday. By Tuesday afternoon the phone number was no longer in service. I drove to Avon Park myself: empty building, no sign, nothing. Heartbroken and furious.
