Corrections

Getting something wrong about a business is the worst thing Dealer Scam Record can do. Here is exactly how we fix it.

How to ask for a correction

Use the dispute form. It reaches a moderator directly and we acknowledge every submission by email. If you would rather write, use reports@dealerscamrecord.com and include the listing URL.

What we correct on request, without argument

  • A wrong identifier. A phone number, domain, email address or street address attached to the wrong listing, or transcribed incorrectly.
  • A confused business. Two businesses with similar names, where reports have been filed against the wrong one.
  • A stolen identity. Your address, trading name or licence number being used by someone else. We mark the listing and publish a notice clearing you by name.
  • Personal information. A named individual, a private address, a bank detail or anything else that should not have been published. We remove these on sight and do not wait for a decision on the rest of the listing.
  • A resolved complaint. If you refunded a buyer, tell us and we will ask them to confirm. Where they do, we note the resolution on the report.

What we will not do

We do not remove an accurate report because the business objects to it, and we will tell you so plainly rather than leaving you waiting for a reply that never comes. We also do not remove listings in exchange for payment, and no one at Dealer Scam Record is authorised to offer that. If anyone claiming to represent this site asks you for money to change a listing, that is not us — please report it to reports@dealerscamrecord.com.

Your right of reply

Any business named here can publish a response on its own listing. We publish responses essentially as written, edited only for personal information or abuse, and we do not require you to accept the reports in order to respond to them.

How fast

  • Personal information removal — same day, on sight, before any other question is considered.
  • Identity theft claims — the listing is marked disputed immediately on submission; a moderator reviews it within two working days.
  • Everything else — a reply within two working days, and a decision within five.

When we change something

Corrections to a listing are noted on the listing. We do not quietly edit a page and leave the old version to disappear: if a figure or a fact changes, the page says so. Listings we clear stay published, marked cleared, so that anyone who saw the earlier version finds the outcome rather than a blank page.
